The Pre-Task Meeting is a necessary part of the New York City Construction code, but it's also a practical tool for keeping workers safe from injuries or illnesses. Although shorter than a Job Hazard Analysis, this meeting encourages worker participation to build camaraderie.

Construction sites are busy and involve different activities, creating changing conditions and safety opportunities. The Pre-Task Meeting serves as a planning tool to identify and minimize hazards. Its main goal is to ensure that employees in high-risk activities can work safely. It's similar to a sports huddle, fostering communication for shared goals, and a military briefing, ensuring everyone understands the mission requirements. In these situations, teams discuss real-time circumstances, potential obstacles, and coordinate efforts for task success. 

Participants in this Pre-Task Meeting training course will learn effective techniques for identifying, controlling, or minimizing potential hazards in the workplace and the regulatory requirements associated with Pre-Task Meetings and the standards for record-keeping.
