About This Course s-mod-info
Lifting heavy objects often causes injuries at work. Construction workers experience more back pain than people in all other industries combined, and back injuries are a major cause of disability for construction workers in their middle years. Handling and lifting heavy materials can lead to problems like back strains, muscle pulls, elbow and shoulder injuries, and hernias.
In this course, you'll learn about the reasons for these injuries, understand what increases the risk of getting hurt, and find out how to recognize when you're pushing yourself too hard. We'll also talk about effective ways to lower your risk, like using the "Power Zone" technique.
You will earn 1 hour of general elective credit toward earning or renewing your Site Safety Training (SST) card upon completion of this course.
Upon completing lessons and passing the 10-question final exam with a minimum 75% score, receive an immediate certificate of completion. Three attempts are given for passing the final.
Note that THIS TRAINING IS AWARENESS-LEVEL ONLY and does not provide any other qualification or authorization outside of the Site Safety Training Card.
