Designed for entry-level construction workers, this in-depth program can be completed entirely online. Our course is intended to provide individuals with a general awareness of hazards and how to recognize and prevent those hazards from occurring on a construction site. Training emphasizes hazard identification, avoidance, control, and prevention. This online OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety course is provided for your individual use by AdvanceOnline and is intended to provide instruction on a variety of general construction safety and health standards.
Note: OSHA recommends Outreach Training Program courses as an orientation to occupational safety and health for workers. Workers must receive additional training, when required by OSHA standards, on the specific hazards of their job.
Once you successfully complete the course and the required course survey, you will receive:
- A Certificate of Completion that you can immediately download and print. Per OSHA, the Certificate of Completion may be used to verify training prior to receiving your DOL OSHA Card.
- Your OSHA DOL Card as soon as two weeks after completing course and survey. NOTE: Please ensure your mailing address is accurate to avoid delivery delays.

This OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety course is intended for entry-level construction workers or anyone who needs DOL OSHA-10 Hour Card to gain or maintain employment in the construction industry. Examples of construction jobs include carpenters, electricians, laborers, masons, plumbers, sheet metal workers, tile workers, and welders.

If you work in New York City and are looking to meet the requirements for your Site Safety Training (SST) certification, you will need to register for the OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety (Proctored) course or the OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety (Proctored) course. Both of these courses use biometric proctoring that meets the NYC Department of Buildings requirement for proctored courses.

Learning Outcomes
The objectives of the OSHA 10-Hour Construction Online course are to serve as an orientation to occupational safety and health for workers covered by OSHA 29 CFR 1926.
After taking this course, you will be able to:
- Recognize the importance of OSHA in providing a safe and healthful workplace to workers covered by OSHA
- Identify struck-by and caught-in or caught-between hazards associated with serious construction-related injuries
- Identify safe work practices around electricity, including understanding electrical terms, basic electrical safety principles, and regulations which pertain to electrical safety
- Recognize the dangers involved in excavations and how to take responsibility and work safely around trenches and excavations
- Identify types of fall hazards and how to prevent falls in your work environment by using appropriate fall protection
- Identify the crane safety requirements for the construction industry, and explain how to avoid accidents and identify hazards when working on or around cranes
- Recognize ladder hazards and ladder-related injuries and how to select, inspect, and maintain ladders
- Identify how to properly use, maintain, store, and dispose of materials including safe operation of cranes, rigging, and mechanical equipment
- Identify a confined space, its hazards, requirements for confined spaces as listed under the Confined Spaces in Construction Standard, and duties and responsibilities of confined space workers
- Select a variety of PPE based on a workplace evaluation and types of hazards
- Recognize types of scaffolds and how to safely use them
Syllabus
This fully narrated course is built for success, and includes interactions, exercises, and quiz questions intended to help prepare students for the module exams. Students must answer each quiz question and complete each interaction in order to proceed.
Lesson exams are conducted after the completion of each lesson. Students are required to complete each exam after completing each lesson. This allows students to take the corresponding exam while the information is still fresh.
Each exam consists of 10 questions randomly selected from a large pool of questions. A score of 70% or better is required to pass each exam. Participants are given 3 opportunities to pass the examinations and will receive immediate feedback.

Requirements
Following the completion of all training content and achievement of passing scores on all exams, students will need to complete a brief evaluation and confirm his/her identity. After doing so, the student will have access to the course completion certificate.

Upon successful completion of this OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety course, you’ll receive a Certificate of Completion which you can download and print immediately. Your Department of Labor (DOL) OSHA 10-Hour Card will be mailed to you.
Each student must fulfill the following requirements to earn a Certificate of Completion for the OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety course:
- Adhere to the Honor Code to complete the training yourself
- Complete all required course laboratory exercises, you can save your progress as you go
- Pass all lesson examinations and the final exam with a score of 70% or better. Participants are given 3 opportunities to pass the examinations and will receive immediate feedback.
- Spend 10+ hours in the training course over a 2-day period. OSHA limits all OSHA Outreach Training (classroom and online) to a maximum of 7.5 hours training per day in all OSHA 10-Hour courses. As a result, all 10-Hour courses must be delivered over a minimum of two days.
- Complete all training within 180 calendar days of the course start date.
- Only access the OSHA Outreach training within U.S. Jurisdiction.

What is an OSHA DOL card?
The official OSHA DOL Card is a plastic, wallet-sized card issued after the successful completion of an accepted OSHA Outreach program course. AdvanceOnline currently offers the OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety course, the OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety course, and the OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Safety course.
The OSHA DOL Card is commonly referred to as an OSHA Card or a Completion Card.
Please note that only students within OSHA's jurisdiction (the 50 States and certain U.S. Territories) may receive a DOL card.
How do I get an OSHA DOL card?
You will receive your plastic official OSHA DOL card as soon as two (2) weeks after you complete your OSHA Outreach course and survey. The card is mailed via USPS First Class to the mailing address in your account profile.
Once you successfully complete the course a pop-up will appear and you can print or download the certificate of completion to your computer, smartphone, or tablet. While you're waiting for your DOL card to arrive, you can use the certificate of completion as proof you have successfully completed the course.
What are the OSHA Outreach Program courses?
OSHA implemented an Outreach Training Program that has proved highly successful in reducing the number of on-the-job accidents. According to OSHA, the Outreach Program is their "primary way to train workers in the basics of occupational safety and health". Our OSHA 10- and 30-Hour Construction Safety or OSHA 10-Hour General Industry courses are online versions of OSHA's successful program. The courses are designed to provide instruction on a variety of construction safety and health standards.

Need a Replacement OSHA DOL Card?
To qualify for a DOL card replacement, you must meet all the conditions below:
- You enrolled in OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour training through AdvanceOnline
- You successfully passed the OSHA 10-Hour or OSHA 30-Hour course within the last 5 years
- You've never received an OSHA replacement card from 360training before
NOTE: Per OSHA regulations, you're only allowed one replacement card in case of loss or damage. To get an additional card, you will need to complete the DOL Card training requirements again.
