If you are a Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO), supervisor, crew leader, or manager, the 40-hour training is mandatory. Supervisors, crew leaders, or managers who are not SSHOs should opt for the 24-hour course. For non-supervisory employees, the 16-hour course is sufficient. Additionally, everyone involved in EM 385-1-1 regulated sites must complete an 8-hour refresher training every year.
