About This Course s-mod-info

EM 385 40-hour training is designed to ensure compliance with the safety and health standards outlined in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) EM 385-1-1 manual. The training is essential for Site Safety & Health Officers (SSHOs) working on military contracts or projects. It helps individuals understand their responsibilities, recognize construction-site hazards, and respond effectively to prevent potential injuries, accidents, or site shutdowns. Military personnel, civilian contractors, and government employees involved in construction projects requiring USACE compliance are among those who need this training.

This course explores the updated 2014 guidelines of the EM 385 manual, emphasizing USACE safety and health requirements. Participants will gain valuable insights into safety practices, covering areas like personal protective equipment selection, safe use of ladders and hand tools, and proper protection during excavation and trenching. This training is recommended for civilian contractors, military personnel, and government employees. Get started by enrolling today!

Which EM 385-1-1 Training Course Do I Need?

Determining the appropriate EM 385 training depends on your role on EM 385-1-1 regulated sites. If you are a Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO), supervisor, crew leader, or manager, the 40-hour training is mandatory. Supervisors, crew leaders, or managers who are not SSHOs should opt for the 24-hour course. For non-supervisory employees, the 16-hour course is sufficient. Additionally, everyone involved in EM 385-1-1 regulated sites must complete an 8-hour refresher training every year.
